This tutorial was
written for those who have a working knowledge of Paint
Shop Pro.
It was written by me on November 30, 2009 and comes from
my own creativity. It is meant to be
only a guide and you may make make changes, add to it or
subtract from it to make a tag
that is uniquely yours. While I retain the copyright to
the tutorial, any tag you make is your own,
and you can do with it as you wish.
Any resemblance to another tutorial is a coincidence
and
unintended.
Materials Needed
PSP 9 (any version
will work)
Santa Snowman tube set by Friendly Scrap. You can
download the set
Here
Gabee's Christmas Mask 7 (supplied with permission)
Calendar Template - supplied
white animated sparkle - supplied
Font of choice. I used Kristen for the name
and arial for the calendar
Supplies
Here
From the set open
Snowman 001. Shift_D to copy and close out the
original. Image, Resize to
509 X 454 pixels. Adjust, sharpness, sharpen.
Open mask on desktop and minimize
Image, canvas size,
600 pixels X 500 pixels
Add a new layer,
drag to bottom of layer palette, flood fill with color
#6e7b13
Add another new
layer, flood fill with color #f5f5b8
Layers, New Mask
Layer, From Image, find Gabee Christmas Mask 7, apply,
mask delete, merge into layer below it, merge group.
Highlight Raster 1,
Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow, at 5, 5, 50, 5 black
Save at this point.
Open calendar
template. In the materials palette make the
background color
#e4d29b and the foreground #f3f3f1, click on gradient,
foreground-background
at 0. Flood fill all areas of the calendar
template;
Use font Arial at 14
Bold to add month and dates to calendar. Use the
move tool
to move them into place. When satisfied with
arrangement, Layers, Merge, Merge all.
Copy calendar and
paste as a new layer on snowman image
Resize another of
the santa snowman figures to 120 pixels high, adjust
sharpness, sharpen,
copy paste as a new layer or decorate "calendar" as you
wish
Layers, merge all.
flatten
Image, add border,
color #6e7b13, 15 pixels, symmetric. Apply
Select border with magic wand
Effects, 3D Effect,
Inner Bevel as below
Image, Resize 600 X
505 pixels
Add name and
copyright information. Save as an optimized jpg
file
Animation (if
desired)
Open tag in
animation shop. Open sparkle in animation shop
Duplicate tag till
you have 4 frames
Select sparkle,
edit, select all
now on tag edit, select all
paste into selected frame
Line up with white of eye
Repeat for second eye
That's it! All
done
