This tutorial was written for those who have a working knowledge of Paint Shop Pro. It was written by me on January 1, 2009 and comes from my own creativity. Any resemblance to another tutorial is purely coincidence
Supplies needed: PSP X2 (any version will work) Tube of choice. I am using the fantastic artwork of Keith Garvey. Mura's Seamless FiltersD - Polkadot Unzip the plugins into your plugin folder

Open a new image 200 X 200 pixels. Flood fill with color #7b3b3b Effects, Plugins, Mura's, Seamless, Polkadot as follows
Export as a jpg to your images file
Open a new image 600 X 450. In the materials palette set the stroke color to #7b3b3b and the fill color to NULL Click preset shapes and find heart 1. Preferences as follows
Draw out heart outline as follows. Note: To make your heart exactly the same size as mine we'll use coordinates. If you are not familiar with using coordinates they are not difficult at all. Here's how. Move your preset shape tool (or required tool) slowly back and forth and up and down on your canvas without clicking it. If you look in the bottom right hand corner of your PSP program you will see a set of numbers changing as you move your tool around. Those numbers are coordinates. (see above) Line up your preset selection tool at the first set of coordinates given in the directions, then click then drag down and to the right till you find your second set of coordinates. Release to finish. Set your heart preset beginning at coordinates (30, 30) drag down and to the right to (400, 415). Layer, Convert to Raster Layer. Click preset shapes and find rectangle. Preferences as shown above for heart Draw out a rectangle with the following coordinates (60. 110) and (570, 230). Layer, Convert to Raster Layer. Layer, Duplicate, Image Flip. Drag each of the rectangle layers below the heart layer Select the first rectangle with the magic wand. Selections, Modify, Expand, Expand by 10. Selections, Invert, Selections, Invert (times), flood fill border area with white. Repeat for second rectangle, and then for heart Select background layer. Copy, paste tube image as a new layer. Adjust Blur, Gaussian Blur
Plugins, DSB Flux, Linear Transmission
Use the selection tool set on rectangle to select inside the bottom rectangle, flood fill with color #7b3b3b Use the selection tool set on rectangle to select inside the top rectangle, flood fill with color #7b3b3b Use the selection tool set on rectangle to carefully select the small rectangle between the borders of the two larger rectangle, flood fill with polka dot pattern made at beginning of tutorial. Select inside heart with magic wand, Selections, Modify, Expand, Expand by 1, flood fill with polka dot pattern With heart still selected go to Plugins, Xero, Soft Mood and apply as follows
Text for Rectangles Top Rectangle: Open a new image 332 pixels wide by 80 pixels high
Using the font Redhead Goddess type the word Bettie 7 times with one space between. Type four rows in all the same Layer, Convert to a Raster Layer. Copy text, paste as a new layer to top red rectangle. Bottom Rectangle Open a new image 480 pixels wide by 80 pixels high Type, using same settings, We Remember 5 times across with one space between words Type another 3 rows the same Layer, Convert to a Raster Layer. Copy text, paste as a new layer to bottom red rectangle. At this point add a drop shadow to each of the red rectangles and to the heart as follows
Open tube, copy, paste as a new layer Drop Shadow as above Open rose image, select around the rose and around the rose bud using the freehand selection tool. The freehand selection tool is located with the magic wand tool and the selection tool on the tools pallette It should look like this or similar
Image, Resize, resize all layers by 50 percent twice. Set aside Open bow. Image resize 50 percent, then 80 percent. Copy, paste to top of heart as shown. Drop shadow as before Copy rose, paste to center of bow, drop shadow as before Add copyright information Add name. I used white, font Vivaldi, at 36 That's it!
