This tutorial was written for those who have a working knowledge of Paint Shop Pro.

It was written by me on May 16, 2009 and is meant to be a guide to your own creativity.

Any resemblance to another tutorial is purely coincidental

Supplies needed:

 

PSP 9 (any version will work)

Tube of choice.  I am using the fantastic artwork of

Elias Chatzoudis.  You can purchase his work at MPT here

FTU scrap kit “Brighten Up Mini Kit” from
Delicious Scraps.  You can download it here

2 Fonts - I used -
Balthazar (included in Windows)
and Farang - get it Here

 

 

Supplies: none provided

 

 

Open frame 2.  Duplicate and delete the original.  On your copy, 

Image, Resize all layers by 30 percent,

 

Image, Canvas Size, as follows

 

 

 

Click on your preset tools, ellipse, with these settings

 

 

 

 

With white background and white foreground make a circle slightly overlapping
the frame.  It will be on it's own vector layer.  Pull out the nodes to make even, then in the
layer panel R click on vector layer and convert to Raster layer

 

Click on white circle with the magic wand to select, resize paper of choice (I used paper 6)

to 500 X 500 pixels  and paste as a new layer.  Selections, Invert, Hit delete on your

keyboard

 

Drag both the white layer and the paper layer below the frame layer.  Delete Raster 2.  Name
your layers like this

 

 

 

 

Click on the paper circle in the layer palette, change the opacity to 50
and the blend mode to dissolve

 

Copy tube, paste as a new layer

 

Layers, New Raster Layer, make a selection as follows

 

 

 

 

starting in the center of the ellipse at coordinates (300, 310).  (Note:  To use coordinates first make sure

that your Status tool bar is active (go to View, Tools, Status)  When it is on you will see a set of small numbers

 at the bottom right of your paint shop pro screen as you move your cursor over your image.  Move the cursor

until the numbers are the same as those specified.  Then move to the top and side to create an ellipse

as large as the center edge of the frame.

 

Select tube layer in the layer palette, Selections, Invert, Selections, Float, Selections, Defloat,

With the eraser tool erase the bits of tube left over at the bottom of the frame.  Selections,

Select None.  Delete Raster 1 Layer in the layer palette

 

Select frame in the layer palette, Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow as follows

 

 

 

 

Apply the same drop shadow to the tube layer

 

 

Open journal 2.  Resize by 30 percent, then  by 80 percent.

 

 

With the text tool set on color  #ba0025 and these settings

 

 

 

type a message of choice on the journal pad.  In the layer palette reduce the opacity of the text 75 percent. 

X out all layers except the journal layer and text layer then merge visible these two layers.  Rename this layer journal Image, Rotate, Free Rotate, Right by 20.  Drag journal layer below tube layer.

 

 

Open Flower and Flower 2 from the kit.  Image. Resize each by 30 percent, then by 80 percent.

Copy, paste as a new layer, one at the right lower frame (at tube) the other at right upper (the journal)

Drop Shadow as before.  Copy, paste diamond to center of each flower.

 

Open flowers as desired, resize by 30 percent, then 80 percent.  Copy, paste as a new

layer.  Arrange as you like between the 2 main flowers.  Drop shadow on each layer.

 

Open bow,  resize by 30 percent, then 80 percent.  Copy, paste as a new

layer.  Arrange as shown with some flower layers below and others above bow.
Drop shadow as before.

 

With stroke white and fill color #ba0025, Farang font at 96, add name at bottom

Drop shadow as before

 

Layers, merge, merge visable.  Image Resize to 500 pixels by 500 pixels

 

Add copyright layer

 

Layers merge, merge visable, save as a psp file

 

 

That's it!
