Happy Easter

This tutorial was written for those who

have a working knowledge of Paint Shop Pro.

It was written by me on March 18, 2009 and comes from my own creativity.

Any resemblance to another tutorial is purely coincidence

Supplies needed:

PSP 9 (any version will work)

Tube of choice.   I am using the fantastic artwork of

Jose A Cano.  You can purchase his work and a license to use it  Here

"Bunnyhop" free to use scrap kit by Rockin's Ruckus Creations

WSL_84 Mask by Chelle Wee Scott Lass here

Font of choice (I used ideomaSPRAY which you can download at Abstract Fonts Here

and Script MT Bold, a Windows font)

Supplies:  no supplies provided

  Open heart frame of choice. (I chose a blue heart with pink ribbon)
Resize to 600 pixels wide by 600 pixels high
Image, Canvas Size, Resize to 700 X 700 pixels.

Add a new layer and in the layer palette drag below the heart frame layer.
Flood fill with white

Copy paper 1, paste as a new layer above white background

Layer, New, Mask Layer from image.   Find the WSL_84 Mask and apply. 
Layer, delete, yes to the question. And merge group

Selections, freehand selections, select all around inner part of heart frame,

double click to join

Open patchheart1.  Copy, paste as a new layer above frame layer.
Selections, Invert, hit Delete on the keyboard.  Drag this
layer below the frame layer.  Reduce opacity on this layer by
moving the toggle to the left till you reach 70

Open the following tubes from the kit on your desktop and resize each of them by 50 percent:
bow 9, flower 10, flower 5, flower 6, chick 1, and rabbit 1

Select the ribbon, copy, paste as a new layer.  Image, Rotate, Free Rotate, Left by 30
Drag below frame layer

Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow

Copy main tube, paste as a new layer.  Drop Shadow as above

Add the reminder of the above tubes arranging like mine or as you please.  Drop Shadow as above on each later.

TIP:  If you want to accentuate your tube more apply the same drop shadow one or two times more

For the blue flower stem on the left side  Image, Rotate, Free Rotate, Left by 18, then
duplicate and mirror for right side

When all is arranged as you like it, save as a psp file.  We're going to make the fill for the lettering and then will come back to it

Easter Pattern Fill

Open a new image 600 pixels wide and 600 pixels high.  Flood fill with white

Copy paper of choice (I used paper 1, paste as a new layer

Copy patchheart 1, paste as a new layer.  Push up to top edge with the move tool, Layer Duplicate, Image Flip

Layer Duplicate, Image Rotate, Free Rotate, Left 90.  Move to side with point in center

Layer Duplicate, Image Mirror

Layers Merge, Merge Visible

Effects, Art Media Effects, Brush Strokes as follows:

and you'll have something that looks like this

Then Effects, 3D Effects, Reflection Effects, Kaleidoscope as follows

Image, Resize, 300 pixels X 300 pixels.  Adjust Sharpness, Sharpen

Reduce again to 100 X 100 pixels.  Save as a jpg

Type the words Happy Easter with Font of choice, stroke a dark color from tag, fill - pattern just made

Effects 3D Effects Drop Shadow 2, -2, 80, 1

With second font add name to egg in same manner

X out the white background layer on the layer palette

Layers, Merge, Merge Visible

Optional:  add several jelly beans from tube palette

Resize to 480 pixels wide by 480 pixels high

Add copyright layer

Layers Merge, Merge all

That's it!  You're done
