A Good Egg

This tutorial was written for those who
have a working knowledge of Paint Shop Pro.
It was written by me on March 24, 2009 and comes from my own creativity.
Any resemblance to another tutorial is purely coincidence
 

Supplies needed:

PSP 9 (any version will work)

Tube of choice.   I am using the gorgeous artwork of Elias Chatzoudis

 Mask WSL_84 by Chelle at Wee Scot Lass  here

Template 27 by Sarassinfulcreations (supplied)

Font of choice (I used Monotype Corsiva, a Windows font)

Animated eggs by Peachie Get them Here in the Bird section

Supplies:  Here
 

Open mask, minimize for now

  Open Template.  Duplicate and delete original. 

Image Resize, Resize all layers by 120 percent

On the layer palette X out the copyright and the 2 dotted lines

Delete the 2 heart layers (optional)

Select rectangle 1 with magic wand, copy paper 1, selections, Modify,
Expand by 1, Flood fill with color #ce3f2e

Select rectangle 2 with magic wand, copy paper 1, selections, Modify,
Expand by 1, Flood fill with color #ce3f2e

Select rectangle 3 with magic wand, copy paper 1, selections, Modify,
Expand by 1, Flood fill with color #fbf57a

Select rectangle 4 with magic wand, copy paper 1, selections, Modify,
Expand by 1, Flood fill with color #fbf57a

Select rectangle 1 in the layer palette, Layers, New Raster Layer, flood fill
with white and drag below rectangle layer in the layer palette

Copy paper 1 from the kit, paste as a new layer above Raster 1

Layer, New, Mask Layer from image.   Find the WSL_84 Mask and apply with
invert mask data not checked.  Layer, delete, yes to the question. And merge group

Select Circle 1 with the magic wand, Selections, Modify, Expand by 1, flood fill
with color #ce3f2e

Un X dotted circle.  I left mine white

Select Circle 2 with the magic wand, Selections, Modify, Expand by 1, select
paper 6 from the kit, Images, Resize to 500 X 500 pixels, copy, paste as a new
layer above circle 2, Selections, Invert, hit del on the keyboard

Delete Circle 2 from the layer palette

Select Rectangle 5 with the magic wand, Selections, Modify, Expand by 1, flood fill
with color #ce3f2e

Select Rectangle 6 with the magic wand, Selections, Modify, Expand by 1, select
paper 6 from the kit, Images, Resize to 500 X 500 pixels, copy, paste as a new
layer above rectangle 6, Selections, Invert, hit del on the keyboard

Select Ribbon with the magic wand, Selections, Modify, Expand by 1, flood fill
with color #ce3f2e

Un X dotted rectangle.  I left mine white

Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow.  Apply a light drop shadow to each layer except
background and mask layer as follows







Select Raster 2 in the layer palette, change the blend mode to screen.  Do the same
for Raster 3

Copy main tube, paste as a new layer toward left side, drop shadow as before

Select Rectangle 6, Select main tube, image mirror, copy, paste as a new layer (head, shoulders as shown)
to right lower Raster 3,  Selections, Invert, Selections, Float, Selections, Defloat.  It will look like this.

With the eraser tool erase all selected section at bottom of tube.
Do not erase the selected areas at the top

Select Raster 5, in the layer palette change the blend mode to Luminance (L)
and the opacity to 80 for this layer as shown below

Delete rectangle 6 from the layer palette

Open heart 3, resize by 80 percent, image, mirror,  Copy, paste as a new layer in top left corner
of circle frame. Drop Shadow. 

Open flowerpot 2, resize by 80 percent, copy, paste as a new layer to left lower circle frame.  Drop Shadow.

Choose 3 Easter eggs.  Resize each by 50 percent, then by 80 percent.  Copy, paste first egg as a new layer
on ribbon, Image Rotate, Free Rotate, Left by 15, the second egg beside it, and the third egg slightly below,
Image Rotate, Free Rotate, Right by 15  Drop Shadow on each layer.

With text tool on font of choice, stroke and fill color #fbf57a , vector, write message "She's a
Good Egg, Just Slightly Cracked" on tag, convert to Raster. 

Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow as follows

Add name at bottom right of tag if desired.  Drop Shadow as above

Resize tag (all layers) to 515 X 485

Add copyright layer

Merge all

Save as a jpg file

Animation

Open tag jpg in animation shop.  Open egg animation in animation shop

Right click on tag, Duplicate

Click on egg animation,  Edit, select all, edit copy, click on tag,
Edit, Select all, Edit paste into selected file

Add as many as you wish

Edit, Select all, Frame Properties, change to 100

Check your animation - save as a gif file

That's it!  You're done
