| Sooo...You've Been Wondering About Fonts and PSP It seems logical to assume that when you want to use a different font than those that are already installed on your computer that you simply search for the font you want, download it, and save it into your fonts folder either by unzipping directly into your fonts folder, or as with Vista, R clicking on the font and choosing install. Do not be too hasty! There are 2 facts! 1. Adding additional fonts to your system will slow down your system. 2. Any font available can be used with your paint shop pro program without additional software Here's how... 1. Make a file called Fonts on your computer somewhere. Download free to use fonts from font web sites, tutorials, font groups etc into this folder
2. Open the Fonts File I have made separate folders for the main types of fonts that I might use
3. Double click on one folder to open it and show the fonts inside
4. Double click on font you want to use to open it (I am going to openThickhead
5. Click the minus sign at the top of the font file to minimize it
6. Open Paint Shop Pro Open a new image 400 X 400 pixels 7. Click on the A (text tool) in the tool palette. Click on the image to open a text entry box 8. In the text options palette click on Font to open a drop down 9. You will see the font that you minimized now shows in the dropdown. Select that font to use it.
10. This font will remain in the dropdown as long as you have the font minimized. When you close the font it will no longer be in the list This is how you can use a fascinating array of fonts in Paint Shop Pro without clogging your system. It works for both ttf and otf files for Windows systems
