Gothic Hearts

This tutorial was written for those who have a working knowledge of Paint Shop Pro.

It was written by me on May 23, 2009 and comes from my own creativity.  It is meant to be

simply a guide and you are free to make changes, add to or subtract from to make a tag

uniquely yours.  While I retain the copyright to the tutorial, any tag you make is your own

Supplies needed:

PSP 9 (any version will work)

4 Tubes by the same artist.  I am using the fantastic artwork of
Kenny Kiernan.  You can purchase his work, and a license to use it  Here

Eye Candy 4000

There are no supplies provided for this tutorial

Open template.  Duplicate and delete original.  Open mask and font,
minimize for now

Select Layer 1 in the layer palette.  Flood Fill with color #000000 black.

Select Layer 2 in the layer palette.  In the materials palette select color #4f3194 background color
and black foreground color.  Change foreground to gradient, foreground-background and flood fill.

Select Layer 3, flood dill with black, Effects, 3D Effects,  Inner Bevel, as shown below

Then Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow as shown below
 

Select Layer 2 in the layer palette.  Effects, Plugins, Photo Effex, Scanlines as shown
 

Select frames background in layers palette.  With magic wand click inside frames,
Selections, Modify, Expand by 1, Flood Fill with black

Using the point to point selection tool make a selection around one rectangle of the frame
background, Selections, Modify, Expand by 1, Copy tube of choice, Paste as a new layer
arranging in frame layer as desired, selections, invert, delete.  Repeat with second and third
rectangles of frame.

Select the frames layer with the magic wand.  Selections, Modify, Expand by 1. 
Using the same colors as above change gradient to
 

and flood fill frames

Effects, Plugins, Photo Effex, same as above but tick vertical.

Copy main tube, paste as a new layer.  Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow, as before.

With color #6b49c1 click on each heart layer and with the flood fill tool click just once in the center
to color hearts.  Do the same with the 2 hearts in the attached tags.

Flood fill background layer with white

Select Main tube layer.  Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 4, Gradient Glow as follows

Select tag layer and repeat the gradient glow

In each of the heart layers add Effects, Plugins, Photo Effex, Scanlines, as above.  Vertical not checked.

Highlight Background in the layer palette, Layers, Add a new Raster Layer, Flood fill with
color #271c40.  Layers, new mask layer from image, find WSL 84 in the dropdown and apply,
Source Luminance Selected, Invert Mask Data not checked  Layer, delete, yes to the question and apply.

 In the materials palette make both stroke and fill color #f7f1f1.
Type name as shown, convert to Raster Layer.  Drop Shadow as before

At the right top of frame add gothic angels in the same font and color, but smaller.
Drop shadow as desired

Resize if desired.  I left mine the same size.

Add copyright information

X out white background layer.

Save as a png image.

That's it!  You're Done
