SNOW PRINCESS
 


 



 

This tutorial was written for those who
have a working knowledge of Paint Shop Pro.
It was written by me on December 2, 2008 and comes from my own creativity.
Any resemblance to another tutorial is purely coincidence

 
Supplies needed:

PSP X2 (any version will work)
Gorgeous PTU scrap kit “Sally Snow and the Snow Princess” by Alane at
Inspired to Dream Scraps.  You can purchase it here
Mask sg_lattice by Essex Girl here  page 16
Font of choice (I used Precious) Get it here
  
snow animation (supplied)

Supplies:  HERE


Open snow princess globe.  Duplicate and close the original.
Resize to 314 X 360 pixels.  View, zoom in, a couple of times to enlarge image.
With freehand selection tool set at 0 and antialias checked, carefully select around the globe area.
Do not select the base.

Duplicate this layer 9 times (10 layers in all)

In animation shop open the snow animation.  Edit, Select All. File, Save Frames as,
choose a place you will remember and save.

Back in Paint Shop Pro, open file, browse to where you saved the frames.
Open all of the ten frames in psp, then X out all but first layer. 

Select layer 1 in the layer palette.  In the material palette choose pattern.  Click on the materials to open
materials, find snowfall 1, click okay, then flood fill selected layer. 

X out this layer, select and un X the next layer.  In the material palette choose pattern.  Click on the materials to open
materials, find snowfall 2, click okay, then flood fill selected layer.

Continue in this manner until all ten layers have been filled with coordinating snow fall pattern

Remove all X's.  File, save as a psp image.

Open Animation Shop and open the psp image just saved.  Edit, elect all.
View  animation and if satisfactory File, save as an animation, set aside.

Back in psp, open a transparent image 600 x 600 pixels and flood fill with white

Add a new layer, flood fill with a color from your princes tube (I used #fbcbd9)

Open sg_lattice mask.   Layers, new mask layer from image, find the sg_lattice mask and apply, invert mask data checked.  Layer, delete, yes to the question. And merge group

Open Frame 1 from the scrap kit, image resize to 550 X564 pixels.  Copy and paste as a new image.  Apply a drop shadow.  I used 2, 2, 50, 5 

Open ornament of choice.  Resize to 134 X 165 pixels.  Set aside

Open snowflake of choice.  Resize to 137 X 134.  Set aside

Open bow of choice.  Resize to 359 X 274.  Image, Rotate, Free Rotate, Left by 30.  Copy, paste to top left (see mine)

 Copy ornament and paste as a new layer (see my tag for placement.)  Duplicate this layer and Mirror

 Copy snowflake and paste as a new layer (see my tag for placement.)  Duplicate this layer and Mirror

 Text Name stroke 1 white, fill fbcbd9, add name at lower right.  (see mine)

Layers, merge visible.  File and save as a psp file  

 

Animation

Now working in Animation Shop. 

Open your merged image, and your snow frames.  Duplicate you merged image 9 times (a total of 10 frame)

Go to snow frames, Edit, Select all, Edit, Copy, click on the merged image, Edit. elect all, Paste into frame.

 In Paint Shop Pro open the word Princess from the kit.  Resize to 243 X 94 pixels.  Copy, Paste in animation shop.  Duplicate till there are 10 frames all together.  Edit, select all, edit copy, click on frames image, Edit, select all, paste to bottom of snow globe frame

Edit, select all, Animation Resize to 500 X 500 pixels

Save tag as a gif animation file.
