So Soft

This tutorial was written for those who

have a working knowledge of Paint Shop Pro.

It was written by me on January 5, 2009 and comes from my own creativity.

Any resemblance to another tutorial is purely coincidence

Supplies needed:

PSP X2 (any version will work)

Tube of choice.  I am using the fantastic artwork of

Jennifer Janesko.  You can purchase her work and a license to use it  Here

Scrap kit of your choice

The one I used is a free to use kit,  Lust and Love by Wanda (Bluey) at Bluedream Designs

WSL_308 from Chelle at Wee Scott Lass.  Get it Here

Font:  Avatar Normal

Plugins:

1.  Xero Plugins

Unzip the plugin into your plugin folder

1.  Open a new image 700 X 700 pixels.  This is large but we will resize later.

2.  Open ornament from kit.  Copy, paste as a new layer to top left corner.  Place it about one square over and one square down.

3.  Layer, Duplicate, Image Mirror.  Layer Duplicate, Image Flip, Layers Duplicate, Image Mirror

4.  On the layer palette X out the bottom layer.  Layers, Merge, Merge Visible

Effects, 3D effects, Drop Shadow

5.  Choose 3 papers from your kit and resize each of them to 500 X 500 pixels.  (I used Paper 3, Paper 4, and Paper 7)

Copy, paste paper 7 as a new layer,  Image, Rotate, Free Rotate, left by 24

Copy, paste paper 4 as a new layer.  Image, Rotate, Free Rotate, right by 24

Copy, paste paper 3 as a new layer.

Apply drop shadow to each of the three paper layers as before

6.  Select bottom layer, flood fill with white

7.  Image, Resize all layers to 600 pixels by 600 pixels

8.  Choose another paper (I used paper 11), copy, paste as a new layer above the bottom layer

9.  Layer, New, Mask Layer from image.   Find the WSL_308Mask and apply.  Layer, delete, yes to the question. And merge group

10.  In the materials palette set the stroke color in a color complimentary to your papers.  I used #665d73.

11.  Preset Shape, Rectangle, Width 8, Coordinates (130,130) and (470,470)

Note:  If you are not familiar with using coordinates they are not difficult at all. Here's how.
Move your preset shape tool (or required tool) slowly back and forth and up and down on your canvas without clicking it. If you look in the bottom right hand corner of your PSP program you will see a set of numbers changing as you move your tool around. Those numbers are coordinates. Line up your preset selection tool at the first set of coordinates given in the directions, then click then drag down and to the right till you find your second set of coordinates. Release to finish.

12.  Effects, 3D Effects, Inner Bevel as follows

Drop Shadow as before.

13.  Select inside the frame, copy main tube and paste as a new layer, selections invert, hit delete on the keyboard.

14. Effects, Plugins, Xero, Porcelain

15.  Accessorize as you wish.  I used Beaded Element 2 and Bow 7.

16.  In your materials palette set stroke at #f9f4e1 and fill at #512137.  Open your text tool, choose stroke width 2 and add your name.

17.  Layers, merge visible and resize tag to 500 X 500 pixels or finished size of choice.

18.  Add copyright information

That's it!  You're Done
