Spring Has Sprung

 


 

This tutorial was written for those who

have a working knowledge of Paint Shop Pro.

It was written by me on March 8, 2009 and comes from my own creativity.

Any resemblance to another tutorial is purely coincidence

 

Supplies needed:

PSP 9 (any version will work)

4 tubes of choice by the same artist.   I am using the fantastic artwork of

Dominic Marco.  You can purchase his work and a license to use it  Here

My Garden free to use scrap kit by Yvette at  Misfits Scrapz

Font of choice

Outside Filters:  Muras Seamless

 

Open mask and minimize for now

  Open template,  Image, Canvas Size, Resize as follows

 

 

Open four pastel papers from the kit. (I used pp 8, 9, 10, 11)  Duplicate each layer twice and close
out the originals.  Minimize one of each paper.  Add polka dots to the remaining copy
of each color as follows.  Effects, Plugins, Mura's Seamless, at these settings



 

In the layer palette X out the copyright layer on the template.

Select circle 1, Selections, Modify, Expand by 1, copy polka dot paper of choice,
paste as a new layer.  Selections, Invert, Hit Del on the keyboard

Do each of the remaining circles in the same way changing papers for each circle

Select stitches 1, paint as desired.  I chose to leave my stitches white.

When finished the polka dot papers can be deleted

Select square bg 1, Selections, Modify, Expand by 1, copy plain paper of choice,
paste as a new layer.  Selections, Invert, Hit Del on the keyboard

Do each of the remaining background squares in the same way changing papers for each square

Select frame 1, selections, modify, expand by 1, flood fill with white paint.
Repeat for frames 2, 3, and 4

Select 4 main tubes from the same artist and open them

Select bg square 1, copy first tube, paste as a new layer, Selections, Invert,
Selections, Float, Selections, Defloat.  Using the eraser tool carefully erase
all the excess tube at the bottom

Select bg square 2, copy second tube, paste as a new layer, Selections, Invert,
Hit Del on keyboard

Select bg square 3, select third tube and apply as in bg square 1

Copy final tube.  Resize if necessary (I resized mine by 80 percent),
paste as a new layer over bg square 4 (see mine)

Select the background layer on the layers palette, copy patterned paper of choice
(I used paper 5), paste as a new layer

Layers, New Mask Layer from image, select the 44 Insational Dreams Mask by Cat
from the drop down and apply with invert mask not checked.
Mask, delete, Layers, Merge visible.

Select butterfly, paint as desired.  Selections Modify, expand by 2, add a new layer, flood
fill with white, drag this layer below butterfly layer

Select flower, paint as desired.  Selections Modify, expand by 2,  add a new layer, flood
fill with white, drag this layer below flower layer

Select word art, paint as desired.  Selections Modify, expand by 2,  add a new layer, flood
fill with white, drag this layer below the word art layer

Add name as desired.  Select, Selections Modify, expand by 2,  add a new layer, flood
fill with white, drag this layer below the name layer

Open frog of choice.  Resize by 50 percent, then by 80 percent,  Copy, paste as a new layer

Open bird and do the same

Open flower of choice, resize by 50 percent, copy, paste as a new layer.  Image, Rotate, Free
Rotate, Left by 16, drag down till the stem is hidden behind the frame and background.

Open second flower of choice, resize by 50 percent, copy, paste as a new layer.  Image, Rotate, Free
Rotate, Right by 16, drag down till the stem is hidden behind the frame and background.

Add copyright layer

That's it!  You're done
