Irish Lace and Bows

This tutorial was written for those who

have a working knowledge of Paint Shop Pro.

It was written by me on March 5, 2009 and comes from my own creativity.

Any resemblance to another tutorial is purely coincidence

Supplies needed:

PSP 9 (any version will work)

Tube of choice.   I am using the fantastic artwork of

Ismael Rac.  You can purchase his work and a license to use it  Here

Irish Charm free to use scrap kit by Bluedream Designs.  Get it Here

My GausBlurCircle Mask - supplied

Lace frame by Bluebird at www.devilsdownunder.net - supplied

Font of choice (I used Celtic Hand , available Here)

Outside Filters:  Alien Skin Xenofex 2, Constellation (optional)

Supplies: Here

Open mask and minimize for now

  Open a new image 700 X 700 pixels

Open three papers from the kit. (I used pp 1,2,5)  Resize each to 500 X 500 pixels

Open lace frame - Resize to 477 pixels wide X 517 pixels high.  Adjust sharpness, sharpen

Copy one paper, paste as a new layer.  Image, Rotate, Free Rotate, Right by 16

Copy next paper, paste as a new layer.  Image, Rotate, Free Rotate, Left by 16

Copy next paper, paste as a new layer. 

Copy heart frame. paste as a new layer.  Image, Rotate, Free Rotate, Left by 16.  Drag to below Raster 3.

Copy heart frame, paste as a new layer

Image Resize all layers to 500 X 500 pixels

Copy main tube, increase opacity to 100% if needed (in the layer palette)

Using the eraser tool carefully erase the excess tube at the bottom of the frame (see mine)

Select Raster 1, flood fill with white.  Copy another paper from the kit and
paste as a new layer (I used pp8)

Layers, New Mask Layer from image, select the Gausblur mask
from the drop down and apply with invert mask data checked.
Mask, delete, Layers, Merge visible.

X out all layers except the background and mask layer
Select Mask Layer, Open Irish Charm Bling Shamrock, copy, paste as a new layer.
Image Rotate, Right by 45.  Move up close to the corner (see mine)

Layer Duplicate, Image, Mirror, Image, Flip

X out the background and mask layers, merge visble the 2 bling shamrocks

Duplicate this layer twice, 3 in all

Select the first of the 3 layers, Plugins, Alien Skin, Constellation, Default Settings but with
keep original image checked.

Repeat on the next 2 layers hitting Random Seed once before applying each layer

Open large bow 2, copy, paste as a new layer.  Resize by 80 percent.  Place as mine

Open corset.  Resize by 80 percent 5 times.  Place as shown

Copy pendant 2, paste as a new layer.  Resize by 95 percent

Copy bow 1, paste as a new layer.  Resize by 80 percent 3 times.  Image Rotate,
Rotate Left by 24

Choose two buttons and resize each by 80 percent 6 times.  Copy and paste as shown

Apply a drop shadow of 0,0,50,8 black to each Raster layer from 2 - 11

Add name as desired

Add copyright layer

Open Animation Shop

X out the copy of merged and copy 2 of merged,  All other layers are not X'd out

In PSP Edit, Copy Merged, and in Animation Shop paste as a new animation

Back to PSP, X out the merged layer and Un X the Copy of Merged Layer.  Edit, Copy Merged, and in Animation Shop paste as
after current frame

Back to PSP, X out the Copy 1 merged layer and Un X the Copy2 Merged Layer.  Edit, Copy Merged, and in Animation Shop paste as
after current frame.

Three frames in all.  View your animation
