The Beach

This tutorial was written for those who
have a working knowledge of Paint Shop Pro.
It was written by me on April 30, 2009 and comes from my own creativity.
Any resemblance to another tutorial is purely coincidence
 

Supplies needed:

PSP 9 (any version will work)

Tube of choice.   I am using the gorgeous artwork of Ismael Rac

Plugins Mura's Filter Meister Copies

Open mask, minimize for now

  Open Paper 1.  Duplicate and delete original.  Resize to 700 pixels by 700 pixels
Right click in the layer palette, promote to layer.  Add a new layer, flood fill with white
drag below Layer 1

With the selection tool set on rectangle select the bottom gold colored section (sand)
Adjust Add/Remove Noise, Add Noise

Select None

Select the top layer (sky).  Do not select the band of slightly darker blue below (water)

Effects. Plugins, Meister Copies, Clouds, Thin Clouds at these settings
 

Select the middle layer (water) just above the sand layer
Effects. Plugins, Meister Copies, Water 1, at these settings

Open Palm tree 2.  Resize to 312 pixels wide, 600 pixels high
Copy, Paste to left side of canvas as shown

Open seaweed, resize to 250 X 231 pixels.  Copy, paste to left side as shown.
In the layer  palette drag this layer below palm tree layer, then Duplicate, Mirror
Drop Shadow as before on each layer

Layer, New, Mask Layer from image.   Find the WSL 282 Mask and apply with
 invert mask data not checked.  Layer, delete, yes to the question. And merge group
X out Raster 1.

Copy shell tube, paste as a new layer.  Images, Resize this layer only by 90  percent.
Use the freehand selection tool to select an area around the pech colored veins of the shell
like this

Duplicate this layer two times (a total of 3 layers)

Copy mermaid tube, paste as a new layer.  Resize this layer by 95 percent.
Arrange as shown  Drop shadow as before 2 times

Using the text tool, stroke null, fill color #fee6b9, size 42, font Ma Sexy add name

Image Resize all Layers to 525 X 525 pixels

Add copyright

Animation

Open Animation Shop.

In the layer palette X out the 2 copied layers of the shell.  Edit, copy merged,
over to animation shop, Edit, paste as a new animation.  Back to Paint Shop Pro. 
X out the first layer of shell and remove X from 2nd layer.  Edit, Copy merged,
over to animation shop, paste after current frame.  Make this frame active. 
Back to Paint Shop Pro.  X out the second layer shell and remove X from 3rd layer.
 (lower 2 layers are X'd out)  Edit, Copy merged, over to animation shop, paste after current frame.

Layers, Merge, Merge Visible

Save as a gif animation file

That's it!  You're done
