Be My Valentine Please?

 

 

This tutorial was written for those who

have a working knowledge of Paint Shop Pro.

It was written by me on January 8, 2009 and comes from my own creativity.

Any resemblance to another tutorial is purely coincidence

 

Supplies needed:

PSP X2 (any version will work)

Tubes of choice.   I am using the fantastic artwork of

Barbara Jensen.  You can purchase her work and a license to use it  Here

Valentine Scrap Kit 118 by Elisabeth.  Download it Here

WSL_Mask 84 by Chelle.  Get it Here

2 fonts of choice (I used Impact and Kaufmann)

 

1.  Open scrap kit and mask on your desk top.  Minimize mask till later.

2.  Open a new image 600 X 600 pixels.  Flood fill with white

3.  Click on scrap kit, copy raster 2 and paste as a new image on desktop.  Resize to 400 X 400 pixels, copy, Paste as a new layer.
Image, Rotate, Free Rotate, Left by 18.  Duplicate this layer, Image Mirror

4.  Click on scrap kit, copy Raster 4, paste as a new image.  Use the crop tool to cut to 400 X 400 pixels.  Copy and Paste as a new layer.  Drag below Copy of Merged.

5.  Click on scrap kit, copy Raster 5 (hearts) and paste as a new image, Resize to 400 X 400 pixels, copy paste as a new layer

6.  Copy Raster 3, Paste as a new Image.  Resize to 300 X 300, copy, paste as a new layer

7.  Add a drop shadow as follows to each paper layer


8.  Click on scrap kit, copy Raster 18 lace, paste as a new image.  Image rotate, free rotate, right by 90.   Copy and Paste as a new layer.  Use the selection tool to select excess lace, hit del on keyboard.  Layer Duplicate, Image Flip.  Drop shadow on these 2 layers as before

9.  Click on scrap kit, copy Raster 9, paste as a new image.  Move to left side (see my tag for placement).  Drop Shadow

10.  Copy buttons, Raster 10 and then Raster 12, and paste as a new layer.  Arrange at top of valentine sign as shown.  Drop Shadow.

12.  Click on scrap kit, copy Raster 11 red heart, paste as a new image.  Image, Resize by 80 percent three times.  Copy, Paste as a new layer.

13.  Click on scrap kit, copy Raster 15 ribbon, paste as a new image.  Drag below button, and above heart.

My layer palette looks like this

14.  Copy main tube, paste as a new layer.  Drop Shadow as before

15.  Select Raster 1 on your layer palette.  Add a new raster layer.  Flood fill with color #700202
Layers, New Mask Layer, from image, select the WSL_84 Mask from the drop down and apply with invert mask data nt checked.
Mask, delete, Layers, Merge visible.

16.  With stroke and fill both white, and handwritten font write the word "Please?" on the red heart.  Use the handle to rotate it slightly as shown.

17.  With stroke white at 2 and fill color  #700202, and font of choice add name.  Drop shadow

18.  Resize if you wish.  Add copyright information
