LOVE

This tutorial was written for those who

have a working knowledge of Paint Shop Pro.

It was written by me on January 10, 2009 and comes from my own creativity.

Any resemblance to another tutorial is purely coincidence

Supplies needed:

PSP 9 (any version will work)

Tubes of choice.   I am using the fantastic artwork of

Keith Garvey.  You can purchase his work and a license to use it  Here

1.  Open template and mask on your desk top.  Minimize mask till later.

2.  Duplicate the template and close out the original.  I like to work with a larger template so the first thing I did was
Image, Resize, resize to 600 pixels by 457 pixels. 
Then I increased the canvas (background) size.  Image, Canvas Size, with the following settings

X out the credits layer on the layer palette

2.  Select the shape layer in your layer palette, Selections, Modify, Expand by 1.  Copy background of choice
from the kit (I used paper 1)  Selections, Invert, hit delete on your keyboard. 

Effects, 3D Effects, Inner Bevel at these settings

Delete the shape layer

Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow

3.  Click inside the rectangle to select.  Selections, Modify, Expand by 1.  Copy background of choice
from the kit (I used paper 6)  Selections, Invert, hit delete on your keyboard. Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow as before
Delete rectangle layer.

4.  Select the circle.  Selections, Modify, Expand by 1.  Flood fill with color #fee9d8.  Effects, Plugins,
Birgits Chaos, Stripes at the following settings

Selections, Modify, Expand by 7.  Add a new layer, flood fill with color #ff8c65.  Drag below the circle layer.
Duplicate this layer 2 times (a total of 3 layers)

Select the bottom layer of the three layers, Edit, Plugins, DSB Flux

Select the next layer and repeat bright noise but change intensity to 42

Select the next layer and repeat bright noise once again but change intensity to 46

5.  Click inside the square to select.  Selections, Modify, Expand by 1.  Copy background of choice
from the kit (I used paper 7)  Selections, Invert, hit delete on your keyboard. Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow as before

Delete square layer.  Delete square frame layer.

6.  Click on square to select.  Selections, Modify, Expand by 7.  Flood fill with color #ff8c65
Duplicate this layer twice.

Select the bottom layer of the 3 layers, Effects, Plugins, DSB Flux, Bright Noise on the three square layers as for the 3 circle layers above.

7.  Select Raster 5 (square with background color)  in the tool palette using the freehand selection tool.  Copy larger (face shot) tube and paste as a new layer.  Reduce opacity to 70.  Drop shadow as before

8.  Copy main tube, paste as a new layer as shown.  Drop shadow

9.  Use crop tool to crop off excess canvas. (see below)

10.  Select Raster 1 on your layer palette.  Flood fill with white.  Copy paper of choice (I used paper 1) and paste as a new layer

11.  Layers, New Mask Layer from image, select the Zuzzanna 9 Mask from the drop down and apply with invert mask data checked.
Mask, delete, Layers, Merge visible.

12.  Open word art LOVE from the kit, copy, paste as a new layer (see mine for placement).  Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow as follow

13.   Copy heart-danglie :) and resize by 50 percent twice, paste on one end of the LOVE ribbon.  With eraser tool erase a bit of string so it appears heart is hanging from ribbon.  Drop shadow as above.  Repeat at opposite end of the ribbon.

14.  Resize button, copy, paste as a new layer.  Image, Rotate, free rotate, left by 30.  Repeat with second button except rotate right.

16.  With stroke white and fill a dark color from tube, and font add your name to bottom of tag

18.  Resize if you wish.  I resized to 550 X 450 piuxels

19.  Add copyright information
 

Animation

Open animation shop.

Back in paint shop X out the top 2 layers of both the circle and square

Edit, Copy Merged, and in Animation Shop paste as a new animation

Back in Paint Shop in the Layer Palette X out Raster 4 and the square, and un X the copy of each,
Edit, Copy Merged, and in Animation Shop paste after current layer

Back in Paint Shop in the Layer Palette X out copy of Raster 4 and the copy of square, and un X the second copy of each,
Edit, Copy Merged, and in Animation Shop, click on Frame 2, then paste after current layer

And you're done!
