CABERNET PUNCH

 

This tutorial was written for those who

have a working knowledge of Paint Shop Pro.

It was written by me on January 12, 2009 and comes from my own creativity.

Any resemblance to another tutorial is purely coincidence

 

Supplies needed:

PSP 9 (any version will work)

Tube of choice.   I am using the fantastic artwork of

Steve Baier.  You can purchase his work and a license to use it  Here

Font of choice

 

1.  Open mask on your desk top.  Minimize till later.

2.  Open a new image 700 pixels by 700 pixels.  We will resize later.  Flood fill with white

3.  Open ruby frame.  Resize to 500 by 500.  Copy, paste as a new layer.  Move up and to the left a bit.

4.  Click inside the frame with the magic wand to select.  Selections, Modify, Expand by 5.

5.  Resize paper from kit to 700 X 700 (I used grapejuice). copy, paste as a new layer.
 Selections, Invert, hit delete on your keyboard. 

6.  Drag selection below frame layer in the layer palette select none.

7.  Select frame layer in the layer palette, Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow, as follows
 


 

8.  Resize swirleyframe to 400 X 397 pixels, copy, paste as a new layer.  Duplicate this layer 2 times in
the layer palette ( a total of 3 layers)

Select the first layer of the three, Effects, Plugins, DSB Flux, Bright Noise as as shown

 

 

Repeat on the second layer but change the intensity to 39

Repeat on the third layer but change the intensity to 42


9.  Select inside top square frame,  Selections, Modify, Expand by 2,  Resize face tube
as needed, copy, paste as a new layer.  Arrange as you like, then Selections, Invert,
Hit the delete key on the keyboard.  Drag below all three square frame layers.  Blend Mode, Exclusion, Opacity 70

10.  Copy main image, paste as a new layer.  Resize as needed (I resized mine by 95%)

11.  Resize ribbon to 600 pixels wide and 16 pixels high.  Copy, paste as a new layer.  Drag below main tube layer.
Image Rotate, free rotate, left by 45.  Select inside ruby frame on layer palette, back to ribbon layer, selections, invert,
hit delete on keyboard.

12.  Resize ruffled lace to 700 pixels wide and 300 pixels high.  Copy, paste as a new layer.  Move to top of frame. 
Drag below main tube layer. Select inside ruby frame on layer palette, Selections, Modify, Expand by 3, back to ribbon layer,
selections, invert,hit delete on keyboard.

13.  Resize flower by 50 percent, then by 80 percent twice, copy, paste as a new layer to right lower corner.  Drop shadow as before

14.  Resize bow by 50 percent, copy, paste as a new layer (see my tag for placement)

15,  Select Layer 1, copy a paper from kit (I used bordeauxstripes(, paste as a new layer

16.  Layers, New Mask Layer from image, select the Monti's Blindsmask1 from the drop down and apply with invert mask data checked.
Mask, delete, Layers, Merge visible.

17.  In the color palette make the stroke color #a78b4c at 1 and the fill color #7a0f09.  Select the text tool and add your name.
Selections, Modify, Expand by 3, make a new layer, fill with  #a78b4c  Drag below text layer
Effects, Plugins, Greg's Factory Outlet II, Pool Shadow at factory settings.  Effects, DSB, Bright Noise at 40

18.  Resize to 500 pixels by 500 pixels.  Add copyright information

 

ANIMATION

Open Animation Shop

X out Layers 2 and 3 of  Raster 4 (square frame), Copy Merged, Paste as a new Animation in animation Shop

 

Back in Paint Shop in the Layer Palette X out Raster 4 and the 2nd copy, and un X the copy,
Edit, Copy Merged, and in Animation Shop paste after current layer

 

Back in Paint Shop in the Layer Palette X out copy of Raster 4 and Layer 4, and un X the second copy
Edit, Copy Merged, and in Animation Shop, click on Frame 2, then paste after current layer

 

And you're done!
